“What do you do when you’re waiting on the Lord?”
In todays society, we are living in what you can call the “microwave” era. We have quick access to everything, almost to the point where you don’t have to leave the house for anything. By having quick access we as society have become spoiled, and sometimes we treat God like a microwave too. We pray and we expect instant results or answers, but what do you do when God doesn’t fix it right away? Instead he makes you wait, and since God’s time is different from ours you could be waiting months to years to receive what you have been praying for. So what do you do while you’re waiting? Let’s be honest, while waiting most of us complain, worry, lose hope, or even worse try to fix it ourselves.
I know waiting on God can be one of the hardest things to do, but I also know that when you try to fix the problem yourself, you make the problem worse. But you should realize that even while you’re waiting God is not only fixing your problem but he also preparing you for it. Maybe there are things he needs to work on within you before you can receive what he has for you. He knows that if he gives it to you when you ask for it, you will not appreciate it or you may not be able to maintain it. So while you’re waiting do a self-evaluation; take the time to recognize things within yourself that could be hindering you in anyway. Accept these negative things about yourself and take the necessary steps to make changes. Remember God already has a solution for the problem that you’re facing but he’s more concerned about your soul and your character. “In the Meantime” is not just about waiting but most importantly about growth. God cannot use you if you still have the same mindset you had 5 or 10 years ago. So while you’re waiting don’t focus on the problem because the problem is already solved, but continue to grow and become a better you.
